Zaheer Khan was born on 7 October 1978 in Shrirampur, Maharashtra, India. His father’s name is Bakhtiyar Khan, and his mother’s name is Zakia Khan. He has two brothers, Zeeshan and Anees. Zaheer studied at New Marathi Primary School and K. J. Somaiyya Secondary School in Shrirampur.

Zaheer started his career in domestic cricket by playing for Baroda. He played very well in the Ranji Trophy. His good performance helped him get noticed by selectors. He also played for Mumbai later in his career.
