Start of Acting
Atul liked acting from a young age. He acted in his first play when he was 10 years old at Haribhai Devkaran High School. He took part in many school and college plays. He joined a drama group called Natya Aradhana in Solapur. Here, he learned acting and stage work.
Atul decided to become a full-time actor. He joined the National School of Drama (NSD) in New Delhi. He got a diploma in acting in 1995. At NSD, he met Geetanjali Kulkarni. She is also an actress. Atul and Geetanjali got married in 1996.
